Happy Father's Day

Last night my husband made the comment that Father's Day is simply another day .... could not be further from the truth though.  You see in 2005 he came into OUR lives without real hesitation and stepped into an instant family.  That was 8 years ago .... yes 8 years ago.

Where biological fathers chose to walk away ... he jumped in head first.  He has been an amazing dad to OUR children.  Together we have watched our oldest excel in school and then go off to college.  Rikki is a true Daddy's girl in every sense of the word. Kody has someone who understands his gamer talk and shares inside jokes with him. Will has been my rock when I felt like the whole world was collapsing on me and we have shared in so many good things.  Through good and bad times we have stuck together .... which is what a real family does.

So no Will it is not another day .... it is your day.  You walked into OUR lives and OUR hearts ..... for that we are blessed.  You are my husband, my lover, and my best friend ...... to our children you ARE their dad and their hero.

I love you ..... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

11 Years Ago Today .....

Rikki made her entrance into this world ...... as the years pass she proves to be just as stubborn and strong willed as we knew she would be.  She strives to be an awesome student, good sibling and a good daughter.  She is now officially 11 years old AND a 6th grader.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIKKI!!!!!

On The Road Again

Last week I got some news that we have been waiting for.  My transfer for my job went through and I am getting an upgrade in my pay as well as hours.  The new clinic is in Douglasville, GA.  With that being said it is obvious that means we are now in the planning stages of moving to the state of Georgia.  We announced yesterday at a family gathering.  This is the thing though ... I start my new position July 1st @ 5am.  This means we have a month to get a rental house, secure movers and pack.  My lovely DH has said he will do most of the packing since I am working at my current clinic until June 27th.

The kids are in the whatever mode about the move.  Rikki said she was changing schools regardless since she will be going into the 6th grade.  Kody doesn't care as long as he has a room and his PS3 makes the trip with him.

The 23rd thru the 28th of June Kody will attend his last year of MDA camp since he is now 17 years old.  He is pretty excited to attend this year and has requested some specific outfits be clean and packed for the week away.

Nisa has said she plans to remain in Florida and finish her schooling.  She said then she will figure out what is next.  She also said this means when she comes to visit it will be for the longer stays like holidays or something because it will cost more to travel.

My back pain is lingering but not as bad as it was in the beginning.  I returned back to work last Thursday and really realized how much night shift has affected me.  The following day I slept until 9am (from like 5am) and then when 5pm came around said I was going to take a nap .... well that nap lasted until 9am.  Apparently I did get up though I faintly remember it though.

I cannot wait to have a new phone so I have a working camera ... this going without pictures stuff is getting on my nerves.

Break From School

After some thinking I decided to withdraw from classes for the summer.  I am waiting for my professor to get back to me about re-taking my math final.  Oh, and I hurt myself at work and have been unable to work since the 5th of this month.  I have my third doctors appointment about it tomorrow.  I still have some residual pain that requires me to continue taking the muscle relaxers and pain medication.  The last appointment the doctor put me on a steroid pack which I still have I think 2-3 days of that medication left.  I will not go into particulars but to say it was my lower back that was affected.

School went okay and the kids have been helping me out since I have been out of commission.  I received a job offer last week and I am waiting for the paper work for that.  I was expecting to see a offer letter when I went into my email this morning but there has not been one as of yet.

Nisa has been home since 5/3 and will be leaving to return to campus Friday.  She has been helpful and it has been nice having her home.  She and Rikki have managed to get on each other's nerves quite a few time but it is not something that surprised me.  Kody and Nisa have been watching Netflix and hanging out in the living room.

Right now I have a throbbing headache.  Oh I am not sure if I mentioned that last cycle was a bust and we are not expecting at the moment.  This cycle I did not fall apart though I was more focused on the level of pain my back had me in so maybe it detoured me for a little while.

I have decided to put my projects on hold and not pick them back up until maybe in the fall.  We have quite a few things going on right now that require my attention and those are a distraction.

For now though I think I am going to lay my head back because it is bothering me.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

On this day we take a moment to give thanks to the woman who would give her everything for you.  Giving you love, time, advice and even discipline are things that we appreciate from our moms.  This title does not just fall upon the birth mom of a child because sometimes the woman raising said child is an auntie or grandma or foster parent.

A month after my 15th birthday I gained the title mom and since have given birth to 2 other children.  They are my world and we are praying that by next mothers day that we have added onto our family.  Being a parent has been a true experience and I would not change that part of who I am.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there ... God bless you.

17 Years Ago Today

The doctors were handing me this 5lb 11 oz little boy who was in such a hurry to meet mom that he came 5 weeks early.  Today he is this inspirational, lovable, goofy, sarcastic young man who continues to amaze me with his strength.  He is one who loves to let people know he loves them and to give hugs without needing a HUGE reason to.  Kody loves his siblings, his mom and dad ... and his video games.

I love you Kody and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
